Sarah Akinterinwa was commissioned by The Cartoon Museum to produce several new artworks to accompany the exhibition Sarah Akinterinwa & Mary Darly: A Dialogue.

Sarah Akinterinwa is the first black British woman to be a New Yorker cartoonist. For the exhibition, Sarah responded to the works of eighteenth century cartoonist Mary Darly. (Often referred to as 'the first professional female cartoonist'.) The exhibition is an artistic dialogue reaching back 250 years and capturing London's colourful cast of characters in very different times.
