Set in 2009, Boomerang tells the story of a psychology graduate named Claire, who has returned to her single mother's home in Stonemarket. Claire is now looking for work, but isn't too sure what exactly she wants to do. Struggling with insomnia, anxiety and adjusting to a new economic climate, Claire must navigate the job market, the job centre and finding her place in life as an adult.

Boomerang is my attempt to explore social issues, with light a light touch and humour. If you enjoy 'slice of life' comics, if you want to read about unemployment and mundanity, insomnia and anxiety with a bit of gentle humour on the side, then this is one for you! (Hopefully). Probably would be a nice gift for anyone interested in the same. Probably not a good idea for a graduation present.

Boomerang was one of the shortlisted finalists in the Laydeez Do Comics Prize (2018)
